18 months ago I used to live in an old farmhouse in the Scottish countryside.

It was like a picture postcard.

Rolling hills. Mountains in the distance. Sheep grazing in the fields.

Peaceful.

Or so you would think…

But next door were the neighbors from hell.

They totally ruined my peaceful life in the country.

Psychotic doesn’t even come close.

The blue touchpaper for the impending fireworks was that our properties shared the same land, same water supply and same driveway.

Take the boundary line for example.

We shared a lovely expansive green lawn out front and when we moved in they said they would never put up a dividing fence.

They put up a dividing fence.

And then they tried to make us pay the bill. Claiming it was “Scottish law”.

Our lawyer called BS.

Then there was the shared water well.

When it rained, the water went brown and smelly.

We were worried about the risk for our baby so we wanted the water inspected.

The neighbors from hell denied anyone access to the well (on their property) because they were trying to sell their house and didn’t want a bad report to affect their sale.

(Effectively putting their financial gain ahead of the health of our child)

So we got the well tested in secret and it was contaminated with 5 different harmful bio-organisms.

Yum.

Then there was the infamous shared driveway.

This was the biggest bone of contention.

They resented that we got lots of visitors so they put boulders down to stop our guests from coming up the drive.

I know right?

I told you they were pscyho. And then it came.

The biggest shock of all…

Every Sunday morning we were relieved to get some peace from all the hositilities because they disappeared off for a short while.

It was only during a walk in the local village that I saw them going to church.

Holy moly!

How could it be? These people are Christians?

Really!?!

It just goes to show you…

Reading The Bible doesn’t make you a good Christian.

Just like reading a guide to making money online doesn’t make you money.

You need to implement what you learn.
