The time was 730pm at night.

I’d been cycling since 630am in the morning and had already covered 151 miles up some of the biggest hills in the country.

And now this.

Cairn o’ Mount.

1061 feet of straight climbing in 2 miles.

10% gradient.

My legs were burning before I even started.

This was gonna hurt.

And hurt it did.

My speed got stuck at 6 mph – lactic acid filled my legs, my lungs screamed for mercy and sweat started pouring.

The climb seemed endless and I was in trouble.

I was fading fast.

But there was no way I was going to stop pedalling and get off my bike at this point in the ride.

Failure was not an option.

The solution?

Break it down into smaller chunks.

Rather than focus on the entire 2 mile nightmare I spotted fenceposts at the side of the road.

I set myself the challenge of just riding to the 10th fencepost along the road.

And then the next ten.

And the next.

And eventually (around 150 fenceposts later) I’d summitted the toughest climb of the day and went on to complete the 180 mile ride – I was elated.

The lesson:-

You can achieve anything if you break it down into small enough pieces.

Take my friend Bill McIntosh;

He took the challenge of finding a plentiful source of free traffic capable of driving out millions of visitors and turning his website into a predictable profit machine.

At first he struggled.

But then he broke the challenge down into chunks.

And eventually, just like me, he climbed to the “summit” of this traffic mountain.

Bill is now showing other people the way to the top;

* A Japanese dude banked $173,000 profit from the same traffic source while travelling and just running his site on his cell phone. (And all this without spending one red cent on traffic.)

* A work-at-home mom with two kids and no clue tapped into this little-known free traffic source and is now raking in $2500 profit per day. (Seriously – she has no internet marketing experience whatsoever and anyone can have this up and running in just days from now.)

* A retired Aussie woman uses it to bank $200 profit a day while she’s on vacation. (Hint: It’s leveraging other people’s content and yes – it’s both legal and ethical.)

Now it’s your turn to summit the traffic mountain in this free training with Bill McIntosh and myself.
