I’ve been around on the internet since 1999 so when two guys approached me saying they wanted to “hack” my Facebook account to run a beta test I was wary to say the least…

In fact, it sounded downright sinister…

But these guys had been business buddies of mine for years and I could tell from the twinkle in their eyes that they had something special lined up so I gave them the green light to work their magic on my account…

They beavered away for an hour or so and said the deed had been done…

I kinda forgot about it.

I didn’t even know what they’d done to my account.

But then, a few weeks later I looked at my stats and saw;

3,948 NEW FANS, 2107 HOT NEW LEADS AND $11,249 IN CASH…

I’d got 3,948 NEW Fans (all genuine, interested and engaged Fans), 2107 hot new leads onto my mailing list and I’d made$11,249 in sales and affiliate commissions as a direct resultof what they did…

So WHAT did they do?

THEY INSTALLED A “LIKE PAGE” ON MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT…

– A “Like Page” is a simple page that gets you masses more Likes, Fans, leads and sales

– It takes just 59 seconds to set up

– It uses the science of “action-reward” psychology

HOW DO LIKE PAGES GET SUCH GREAT RESULTS?

Because they offer people a valuable freebie which they can only get AFTER they Like your page…

This powerful action-then-reward psychology is the reason it works so well – just like the story I told you with the monk and the flower earlier this week.

And the best part is…

LIKE PAGES GO VIRAL, FAST.

Because when people start liking your page (to get the freebie) then their friends see that too and they visit the Page, they Like it and the traffic starts growing exponentially…

So you’re getting lots more Likes, lots more people on your list and lots more sales.

I was so impressed with the results I said to the two guys;

“EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET A LIKE PAGE!”

Well, it’s been a long-time coming, but finally they’ve found a way to package this up as simple push-button software so you can get your own Like Page on your Facebook account right away.

You really should buy this;

– Because it gets you tons more Likes, Fans, leads and sales

– Because you can set up in 59 seconds

– Because you don’t have to know any technical stuff

– Because you’re getting a Freebie to give away as part of the deal

– Because you can get it at a special low price right now

(they normally charge monthly but right now you can get it for a low one-off price)

Grab The Like Page Builder Software Here

And you can start getting more Likes, more Fans, more leads and more sales TODAY.

And yes, I get paid a commission when you buy Like Page Builder through my link, but let’s be honest, it’s peanuts in the grand scheme of things… Sure – I might spend it on a few diapers for my baby boy James (now 9 weeks’ old – where does the time go!?) but…

The real reason you should buy this is because I want to return the favor that these two guys did for me by giving me my own Like Page and making me that money. It’s the least that I can do.

And sure, if I make a few cents more into the bargain then I’m not going to refuse it (my wife would KILL me!).

But the upshot is this – if you have a business, then you NEED to be on Facebook.

And if you’re on Facebook, then you NEED to have a Like Page.

Period.

And this cool software builds you one in 59 seconds flat.

So…

Grab The Like Page Builder Software Here

And you can start getting more Likes, more Fans, more leads and more sales TODAY.

So let’s start by diving into some juicy definitions…

Facebook reach is basically the number of unique people who have viewed your content and there are many different kinds of reach including page, posts, organic, viral and paid. Understanding your audience and learning when you are reaching them most will give your business a huge advantage over your competitors.

Reach Is The Lifeblood Of Your Fan Page

Without a good understanding of your reach, not only will you not be able to get the most engagement out of your fans but you will also be losing out on a chance to grow your audience and create content made specifically for them.

Now of course there are many variables involved with reach. For one, not all of your Fans will login to Facebook the day you post your content. And of the Fans that do, they will be on at different times.

So as a business owner who wants to use Facebook to grow their business, it’s crucial that you take advantage of the stats that Facebook provides you and today I want to discuss some of the ways that you can measure your reach so that you can market to your Fans more effectively.

Are You Ready To Dig For Gold?

There’s gold hiding inside them thar Facebook Fan page hills… you just need to know where to look. Let me explain…

You want to reach more of your Facebook Fans right? Of course you do! If you are a business owner using Facebook – you would love to reach ALL of your Fans ALL of the time. That would be perfect but obviously that is not going to happen. But what you can do is study your Fans to figure out the BEST way to reach them.

And just like gold, you will have to sift through an enormous amount of rock to find the gold. Yes heavy, sweaty, back breaking work is needed to find those lovely little nuggets. That is unless you know exactly where to look for the gold

And lucky for us, Facebook wants us to find the gold. They provide beautiful shiny nuggets in the form of data on your Fan Page’s performance. Study this data and you will begin to understand the reaction to your posts and how to make changes to improve them, if needed, to reach as many Fans as you possibly can.

Step 1: Where To Find The Gold

Ok, get your shovels ready because I’m about to show you exactly where to start digging to uncover the gold

First you will need to go to your Fan Page Admin panel and click on “Insights”.

Next click on the “Export” tab as shown below…

Now select the date range that you want to download data for and select “New” export. Then download both the “Page level data” and the “Post level data” (download each level data separately).

Now that you have downloaded the data, let’s take a look at the most important “nuggets” from them.

Step 2: Uncovering The Gold Nuggets

Fans You Reached With Your Posts

First we’ll start off with finding out how many Fans you reached with your post. Open up the “Post level data” spreadsheet and take a look at column T (Lifetime Post reach by people who Like your Page). That is where you will find the total number of Fans reached.

To find out your organic reach, just subtract the total number in column V (Lifetime Paid reach of a post by people who Like your page) from column T.

Fans Who Liked Your Page and Were Online

To find out when your Fans were online, you will need to open up your “Page level data” spreadsheet this time. Then go to the last column in your spreadsheet (BT). Here you will see your daily count of people who Liked your page and who were online on the specified day.

Bonus: If you divide column B in your spreadsheet by column BT, you will find out the percentage of your Fans that were online each day.

Fans Who Were Engaged With Your Posts

Another interesting metric to check out is how many of your Fans actually engaged with your posts. Reaching them is one thing but what’s more important is how many are actually interacting with your content. The Engaged users data shows you all clicks and all stories that were generated about your Page.

You can find that information in columns E, F & G.

Fans Who Are Actually “Consuming” Your Posts

This is almost the same as the Engaged information. The difference being that the Consumers information includes all clicks, whether they result in a story or not. Columns AV, AW & AX show the number of people who clicked on any of your content.

Fans Who Are Taking Negative Actions

Negative actions, or Negative Feedback, is an action taken by a Fan such as hiding one of your posts, hiding all future posts of yours, un-Liking your page or reporting your post as spam. You can find that info in columns BB, BC, BD, BE, BF & BG.

You need to keep your negative feedback as low as possible. Facebook gives posts with a high negative feedback less exposure and Fan Pages with a high average negative feedback will end up receiving less Fan reach over time.

Step 3: Cashing In The Gold

I have now shown you the exact spot to dig for gold, I have given you the tools to dig up the gold – now it’s up to you to take those beautiful shiny gold nuggets and cash them in and invest them back into your business.

So take the data that you have found and study it. By doing this you will figure out your Fans habits and interactions with your posts. Also experiment with different strategies with your Fans to see how they react and stick with the ones that work well. By regularly keeping an eye on your stats and testing new strategies – you will be able to grow your business at a much faster pace.

The most important thing to remember now that you have gone through all the effort to find the gold in these reports… now you have to do something with it. Take ACTION on what you have learned! And this should not be a one time thing – you should be checking your Fan Page stats on a regular basis. You have access to this gold mine right in your own backyard… and if you had a gold mine in your backyard, would you only go down there once or would you go down there every day?

Have you ever had one of your blog posts shared on Facebook and end up being disappointed with the thumbnail image Facebook automatically generated because it was some weird image that had nothing to do with what your post was about? Did you know that you can change that thumbnail to any image you want? You can and that’s what I’m going to show you how to do today.

I’m also going to show you how you can test it to see how it will look on Facebook without actually posting it on Facebook. You ready? Then let’s begin!

Step 1: Check Your Blog Post Or Web Page Using The Facebook Debugger Tool

The Facebook Debugger Tool is a handy little tool that allows you to see the information that Facebook will retrieve from your blog post or web page when someone shares, Likes or posts it.

So just enter your blog post URL or web page address into the Debugger Tool and click on “Debug”.

You will now be sent to a page where about half way down you will see how it will look when someone shares your post.

Don’t like the image that they selected? No problem. Here is what you need to do next.

Step 2: Change The Facebook Thumbnail Image You Want People To See

If you have a WordPress blog – this next part is really easy because there is cool plugin called “Per Page Head” that you can use to add the image you want to use. If you don’t use WordPress, you will need to do it manually by adding a piece of code (that I provide for you a little later) to your header using an HTML editor. I will also explain how to do that in a bit.

How To Do This If You’re Using WordPress

To get the Per Page Head plugin, just go to your WordPress blog dashboard and click on “plugins”. Now click on “Add New”. In the “Search” box type in Per Page Head and click “Search Plugins”.

Next, click on the “Install Now” link for the Per page add to head plugin…

… and then click on the “Activate Plugin” link.

Now click on “All Posts” in your blog’s dashboard and then click on “Edit” under the blog post you want to work on. Under the box that contains the text of your blog post, you will see a section called “Add to head”. That is where you will be placing some code that will contain a link to the image that you want Facebook to use.

In this box, place the following link;

And of course, replace “http://linktoyourimage.com/image.jpg” with the URL to the location of the image on your blog that you want to use. Once you have done that, click on “Update” in your blog post to save the changes.

Now when someone shares your blog post, this image will be used. You can use the Facebook Debugger Tool again to make sure it does.

How To Do This If You’re Using A Non-Wordpress Web Page

For those of you who are not using WordPress and do your own html coding, all you need to do is open your page in an html editor. I personally use DreamWeaver but there are also free ones available.

For you Mac people – my super awesome personal assistant John has a Mac computer and uses Kompozer which is a free program.

So after you open your page in the html editor of your choice, find the “<head></head>” tags. Now place the following code anywhere between those 2 tags.

Here is what your html page could look like BEFORE you enter your code…

And here is what it could look like AFTER you place the code…

Your next step would be to replace “http://linktoyourimage.com/image.jpg” with the URL to the location of the image that you want to use. Once you have done that, save your changes and upload your updated page to your website.

Enter the URL of your page in the Facebook Debugger Tool again and take a look at how it looks now.

Doesn’t that look better? Now you can control exactly what image is used when sharing your blog posts on Facebook. And that is a HUGE advantage for your marketing!

Are you worried that with Facebook’s constant changes to their news feed algorithm, that you are fighting a losing battle and your Fan Page posts will hardly be seen? Many people are but you don’t have to because you now have an unfair advantage with these 7 tips that will help you reach more of your Fans.

In case you are wondering what the fuss is all about… not too long ago, Facebook announced that organic reach was going to drop because of competition in the news feed. In the last year, the number of Pages “Liked” by the average Facebook user has increased by 50%. With that much action in a typical users news feed, what chance is there for your content to reach your Fans?

Well for most people… not much of a chance and they should worry. But for you… you don’t have to stress because I have put together 7 awesome tips for you that will keep your posts in the faces of your Facebook Fans.

1. Be Interactive

This is a great way to build a positive relationship with your Fan Page community. People make comments because they want answers – so give them exactly that! Reply to all comments and let them know you care and you want to help them.

Plus when you reply to their question, that Fan will receive a notification from Facebook which will encourage them to come back to your page to read your comment.

You can also run a survey. SurveyMonkey is a web based survey development site that makes creating surveys easy. And SurveyMonkey has a free option that you can try out and upgrade to a paid package if needed.

All you need to do is decide how you want your survey to look, add your questions and then send people to your survey. Simple!

2. Be personal

Give your Fans a look into your personal life. Photos of things you do with your family, trips you have taken on vacation, family pets… anything that shows a little bit of the real you.

On the right you can see a photo of my little girl helping me at work

Tell them about the latest things that have happened to you. For example you can tell them all about the beautiful home office you just built and show them some pictures.

Get them involved! You can ask them if they have any suggestions on what desk you should buy for your office. Maybe you have narrowed it down to 2 desks… ask them to help you pick the best one.

Being personal and getting your readers involved will show people what your home life is like and that you really are a lot like them. People LOVE to interact with these kind of posts and this helps to build relationships.

3. Always Appreciate Your Fans

Have a “Fan appreciation day” or “Special Offers” for an entire week where you can provide Fan-only offers and contests. This will encourage Fans to participate and come back to your Page on a regular basis.

You can have a contest where anyone that shares your content the most wins a prize.

Another very popular contest is a “Caption Contest”. This is where you post a picture of something funny and ask people to create a title for it.

If you have a business that sells a range of products – you can have a contest where your fans get to pick which product goes on sale. You can list 2 – 8 products and ask your fans to vote which one they want to go on sale. And whatever product gets the most votes – that one will be discounted.

At the end of the contest, post the results on your Facebook page and email each person that took part in the contest and tell them which product won and how they can get the special discounted price.

4. Learn When Your Fans Are Online

It only makes sense that if you want the best chance of your Fans seeing your most important content, it’s best to release it when most of your Fans are actually online using Facebook. No sense releasing your content when they are offline because it will only get buried in their news feed. Facebook provides stats that will tell you exactly when your Fans are online.

To view those stats – goto “Facebook Insights”. You can find that by going to your Fan Page and clicking on the gear icon below your Page’s cover photo. In the drop down menu you will see “View Insights” – click on that.

On the next page you will see a navigation bar that shows Overview, Likes, Reach, Visits, Posts and People.

Click on “Posts”…

Here you will be able to see exactly when your fans are using Facebook. You will be able to see the data for the recent 1 week period in days…

And the time of day…

That’s all there is to it. Now you know exactly when most of your Fans are using Facebook!

5. Advertise To Them

Buy Facebook Ads to promote your Page and attract NEW fans. Advertise promotions and even newsletter signups.

Use Facebook Ads to send people to either a post on your page or even BETTER… to a custom tab on your Fan Page like this.

You can set up a custom tab on your Fan Page that you can have an optin form on and give away a freebie. A custom tab like this one is powerful because it has a Like button at the top right of the page and also in the middle of the page – that people can click on to become a Fan. It also has social proof where it lists the number of people who have already liked your page.

6. Only Get “True Fans”

DON’T pay to get “artificial” Likes – they are not worth the cost. Paying for Likes is dodgy and you are NOT getting REAL Fans. You are only getting bots or low paid workers that are hired to click Likes.

You will also never be able to re-target these people, you will never get them to join your mailing list and they will never buy your stuff. Yes they will increase the number of Likes on your Fan Page… but at what cost? You could lose your Facebook account for one but also you will be wasting your informative posts on bots and paid workers who will never look at your page again.

You see, every time you put a post out on your Fan Page, there is a chance that your content will be shared by your Fans and the post can go viral allowing more people to see your post. These new readers can also click on your Like button, become Fans and you will be able to send content to these people in the future as well. Your post going viral can bring in many new Fans really fast.

On the other hand, if 50% of your Fan Page is made up of bots and paid workers, when you post an update there will be low interaction and Facebook will therefore think your post is rubbish and wont show your post to as many people.

7. Post Regular Good Quality Content

Share helpful content with your Fans and try to stand out from the crowd with top notch information. Your Fans will love you for it and will keep coming back on a regular basis to check out more.

You can put together a pdf report and give that away to your Fans. A pdf packed with helpful information along with screenshots and images to really add value. If your report explains how to do something, add photos and/or screenshots that show exactly the steps that need to be taken.

Posting informative videos and audios are other great ways to deliver content to your Fan Page.

You can also mix and match by creating a post that contains 2 or more of the following… audio, video, pdf, images, infographics etc. It doesn’t matter exactly what you mix and match – the main idea is to add value.

Also ask questions to get your Fans engaged with your posts. Once you get a discussion going, it can lead to others chiming in and the information discussed can be extremely valuable for your Fans.

So there you have it, those are 7 tips that will not only help you reach more of your Fans but will also help you build your Fans the RIGHT way.
