He’s won the Tour de France twice and when he was a boy he didn’t even have a road bike.
To begin with he trained on a mountain bike.
Lesson 1 – use what you’ve got and stop whinging about circumstances.
He quickly progressed to a road bike and realized he needed to do some hills training.

You know what he did?
He rode around pulling down the brakes on his bike to simulate hill-climbing.
Lesson 2 – do what is difficult and hard and what others won’t so you can achieve what others can’t.

While most newbies will try not to put themselves in a situation which feels weird or scary…
While most newbies won’t face their fear and will instead run away and hide in forums and on Facebook…

(who go on to become rich online entrepreneurs)
Recognize their fears and address them head on.
