Miserly, evil company owners have used this as an excuse to squeeze even more hours and work out of every single (worker drone) in their businesses.

It sucks.

With the threat of redundancy and lower wages hanging over your head, it’s hardly surprising you will bow down and try to do anything the boss asks to keep the pay check coming in.
